Early Life

I was born and raised in East Arlington, Vermont until age 7 when my family relocated to Rowayton, CT. After graduating from Brien McMahon High School, I attended the UCONN School of Engineering for one year, then moved back to Vermont in 1989 to be closer to my grandparents and enjoy the Green Mountains. My lifelong career in the construction trades started in high school. For a few years I diversified by running the water departments at Bromley Mountain and Killington Ski Resort, but I found this work terribly boring.

I own Jonathan G. Hoffman Builder LLC, a general contracting firm serving both residential and commercial clients. With over 35+ years experience, I am a talented designer and honest tradesman. I'm a master craftsman, skilled in all phases of construction including new homes, additions, renovations, custom cabinets & woodwork, roofs, decks, garages, kitchens and baths. Adherence to Vermont’s Residential Building Energy Standards (RBES) is something that sets me apart. I've built several green homes over the years, including my own. My knowledge, responsiveness and budget consciousness are rare and unsurpassed. A safe work environment for my clients and crew is one of my most deeply-held values.

More About Me

I met Jen through mutual friends and we began dating in the fall of 2011 in the early days of her real estate career. Our combination of interests, talents and passion were a perfect match... and we've been building our dreams ever since! I'm the proud father of two beautiful daughters, Megan & Sara. I’m an avid outdoorsman; exploring and managing my own property brings me great joy. My hobbies include hunting, biking, swimming, working out, and training our German Shepherd, Rex.
